Holy Grail Skincare 2017

I’ve (touches wood) never been one to suffer from bad skin but I do get the odd spot from now and then and after trying what seemed like every brand of skincare out there I was beginning to give up on finding one that actually worked for me, that was until I discovered Neals Yard Remedies.

Neals Yards are a natural and organic skincare and beauty brand (that also do products based around mother & baby, aromatherapy, wellbeing and gifts) and after discovering their skincare range I wouldn’t be without it.

One of my fav things about the skincare range is that it all comes in blue bottles which prevent damage from the sun and are all super cute too may I add!

I started using Neals Yard skincare about two years ago and I have been fully converted and I cannot see myself using another skincare brand again!

Another one of my fav things about Neals Yard is the fact that they have such a large range of skincare products all suited to different skin types so there is bound to be something that suits you!

I use the ‘Purifying Palmarosa’ range which is suited for oily combination skin!

From the range I use the Facial wash, Toner, Daily moisture, facial mask and the make up remover wipes (although these have literally been out of stock for a year…come on Neal sort it out).

Although slightly more expensive than your average drugstore skincare range I think it is definitely worth it to spend a little more when you find something that works for you!

  • Facial wash £17

I use the facial wash at the end of the day before going to bed. I find it really cleanses my skin and helps to make sure all my make up is gone if I’ve been wearing some! It leaves your skin feeling so fresh and amazing and I feel so sluggish if I don’t use it!

  • Toner £16

After using the facial wash I use the toner. The toner minimises pores and primes skin to better absorb moisturiser! I have seen mixed reviews about the usefulness of this toner but I wouldn’t be without it and do see a difference in the quality of my skin if I don’t use it!

  • Daily moisture £25

After applying toner I use the daily moisture and apply this all over my face just before going to bed (I also apply this if I’m going to wear make up before I put primer on). With oily combination skin I used to find that some moisturisers made my skin go more oily but this moisturiser definitely reduces the oils rather than maximises them!

  • Facial mask £26.50

I use the facial mask once a week (normally on a Sunday when I’m having a pamper to prepare myself for the week ahead). I find that this face mask unblocks my pores and minimise the appearance of any blemishes that I might have – definitely worth it!

* No7 Beautiful Skin overnight revitalising eye balm £12

Not a Neals Yard product but I apply it under my eyes after I’ve let my moisturiser sink in. I don’t suffer from bags under my eyes but I do find that using this just brightens my eyes up and makes me look healthier, and at £12 for a tube that seems to last forever I can’t really say no!

From the Purifying Palmarosa range there is also a Mattifier (£35) that I have only tried in sample form and it is amazing!! Full sized bottle definitely needs to be in my possession! The mattifier acts as a primer and reduces any shine and is such a nice base to put make up on top of! I’ve tried a number of different primers and have never found one as nice as this is!

Although slightly more expensive than your average drugstore skincare range I think it is definitely worth it to spend a little more when you find something that works for you!

I would recommend buying the Skincare kit for the range that suits your skin type before diving in and buying the full-sized versions! The skincare kits are £20 and include smaller sizes of the facial wash, toner, daily moisturiser, facial mask and two samples of the mattifier! I bought the Purifying Palmarosa skincare kit before making the commitment and buying the full-sized versions to see if it worked on my skin and I definitely think it is a sensible way to do things – it saves you buying all the products to then find out that they might not actually work for your skin!

The skincare kits are also the perfect sizes for travelling!

I hope this little skincare routine helps you in finding your holy grail skincare!

If you do have any questions about the skincare that I use or Neals Yard in general don’t hesitate to pop me a message!
