So, I was aimlessly scrolling through Instagram a while back, most likely when I had other things to be getting on with but hey, procrastination calls, right…? And that was when I stumbled across Captured By Adam
So, if you haven’t guessed from the image above, Captured By Adam is a digital illustrative artist, specialising in pet portraits, and as you can see, they are very adorable! Anyone who knows me or follow any of my social medias will know that I absolutely adore my little dog, Oscar, and it breaks my heart being away from him while I’m at uni. I was scrolling down Captured By Adam’s insta page in awe of how well he had captured the images of people pets into a digital print and I loved what I was seeing and just knew I wanted to work with him on something! I (very nervously) sent a message proposing a collaboration deal, and to cut the long story short (it isn’t really that long), by the end of the day, we had arranged a deal that was mutually beneficial for both parties.
The way that Captured By Adam works is that you email across a picture / as many as is necessary for him to recreate the image. Probably my fav part of this is that you can choose the background colour of the illustration, my favourite by a mile was the light grey and although the brighter colours are nice, the grey was just more to my taste so you really can tailor the illustration to your individual tastes. I emailed across all the info, not expecting to receive the actual digital print for at least a couple of weeks but, low and behold, just over a week later I had a little illustration of my gorgeous pup in my email inbox! I was SO happy with how well the illustration was done, it really does look like the image I sent across! It was only a couple of days later that I received the printed copy, nicely wrapped in the post (that I do not have a photo of because I was far too excited to open the envelope).
The image on the left is the one that I sent across and the one on the right is the digital copy that I received. I think we can all agree that there is a strong likeness between the two.
All in all, I am thoroughly happy with the service received and the overall illustration. I think pieces of art like this are so unique and something lovely to have – definitely a perfect gift!
All of Captured By Adam’s details are below so you can check out his work and treat yourself or a loved one to an aesthetic print.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Captured By Adam for working in collaboration with me.
Thank you for reading!
Best wishes, Gee x
